Selena Gomez created the Rare Impact Fund in 2020 to expand access to mental health services and education for young people worldwide. The Fund currently partners with 23 organizations to promote social and emotional education, empower communities and practitioners, and increase support for suicide and crisis prevention efforts. A grantee since 2021, Peer Health Exchange is proud to partner with the Rare Impact Fund to continue the work of building healthier communities with young people.

Rare Beauty hosted their first-ever in person Mental Health Summit in May 2023, in honor of Mental Health Awareness Month. Peer Health Exchange staff members Jose Beltran and Eunetra Rutledge attended, alongside 150 thought leaders, beauty industry creators, community members, and Rare Impact Youth Ambassadors. “I love the message Rare Impact is sending to all the young folx out there… beauty is reflected from within, and focusing on your mental health and well-being is an important first step in amplifying your outer beauty,” Eunetra said.

In June 2023 in honor of Pride Month,  Rare Impact invited Peer Health Exchange to “Shine Your Brightest” and join their float in the Los Angeles Pride parade. Devon Espinoza represented PHE, saying, “It was such a great experience being able to join the LA Pride Parade with our partners at Rare Beauty. They went above and beyond to make sure we felt safe, included and welcomed from the start of the planning stages throughout the end of the parade. It was an amazing opportunity and throughout the entire event everyone’s goal was to share love, joy and encouragement to embrace our beauty inside and out. I like to think we achieved that as we all danced throughout the parade, everyone in their beautiful outfits, handing out goodies to the public. It was such a blast! Our partnership with Rare Beauty is truly unique.”

Peer Health Exchange and the Rare Impact Fund look forward to growing the partnership, through future digital and in-person collaboration.
