Chicago Program Intern

Duration:  March 2010 - May 2020

Description
Peer Health Exchange (PHE) gives teenagers the knowledge and skills they need to make healthy decisions. We do this by training college students to teach a comprehensive health curriculum in public high schools that lack health education. The PHE Chicago Program Intern will assist PHE Staff with preparing materials for college volunteer trainings and preparing curricular materials for PHE partner high schools and assist PHE Staff with other program research and administrative tasks

This is an unpaid position requiring a commitment of at least eight hours per week. The ability to work off-site at times is required.

Responsibilities
The PHE Chicago Program Intern will:

  • Help prepare materials for volunteer trainings, including agendas and handouts.
  • Help prepare curricular materials for PHE partner high schools and teaching materials for PHE Health Educators.
  • Assist PHE Staff with other program research and administrative tasks

Qualifications
Peer Health Exchange is looking for someone who:

  • Has or is pursuing a bachelor’s degree
  • Has excellent research, writing, and editing skills
  • Has strong interpersonal skills
  • Is comfortable traveling around Chicago by public transportation
  • Does not currently hold a volunteer position at a PHE partner college
