Description
Peer Health Exchange (PHE) is a national non-profit organization whose mission is to give teenagers the knowledge and skills they need to make healthy decisions. We do this by training college students to teach a comprehensive health curriculum in public high schools that lack health education. Since our founding in 2003, we have trained 2,500 college student volunteers to deliver effective health education to over 25,000 public high school students in New York City, Boston, Chicago, the San Francisco Bay Area, and Los Angeles. In the 2010-2011 year, we will write our next strategic plan, building off of our success to date and charting the course to increase our impact dramatically in the years ahead.

The primary responsibility of the PHE National Fellow will be to support the development, management, growth, and evaluation of the PHE Program organization-wide.

PHE National Fellow will receive a total wage of $20,000 as well as health insurance for his or her ten-month term of service.

Responsibilities
The PHE National Fellow will:

  • Support the development, management, growth, and evaluation of the PHE Program in local cities by:
    • Managing the planning, purchasing, preparing, distributing, and maintaining of materials for PHE cities
    • Collecting, analyzing, and reporting data for program evaluation
  • Assist with innovation and pilot development and implementation by:
    • Managing the development and roll-out of the PHE program technology
    • Working with the Director of Evaluation and Innovation to develop additional programmatic pilots
    • Analyzing pilot performance and evaluating implementation
  • Assist with the collection and analysis of organizational and programmatic data by:
    • Working with the Director of Evaluation and Innovation to analyze, report and present organizational data
  • Complete research on best-practices in health education and pedagogy
  • Provide administrative support by:
    • Copying, filing, and faxing PHE materials
    • Purchasing, distributing, and maintaining PHE office supplies and equipment
    • Assisting in reporting PHE assets, revenue, and expenditures
  • Assist the PHE National team as necessary
  • Qualifications
    Peer Health Exchange is looking for someone who:

    • Has a Bachelors degree
    • Has leadership experience supervising, managing, and training others
    • Has experience collecting and analyzing data
    • Has excellent public speaking, writing, and editing skills
    • Has excellent organizational skills and is extremely detail-oriented
    • Has strong interpersonal skills
