National Team
Louise Langheier, Chief Executive Officer and Co-founder
In 2003, Louise Davis co-founded Peer Health Exchange, Inc. (PHE) with Katy Dion in order to help fill a gap left by underfunded, understaffed health education programs in public high schools nationwide. As Chief Executive Officer, Louise is primarily responsible for leading PHE's national growth plan, building and managing the PHE Staff and Boards, raising funds, and providing fiscal and organizational oversight. Louise graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in History. While at Yale, she co-founded and directed Community Health Educators, the student volunteer program out of which Peer Health Exchange, Inc. grew. Louise serves on the Board of Directors of Dwight Hall at Yale-the center for public service and social justice.
Courtney Schroeder, Chief Operating Officer
Courtney joined Peer Health Exchange in July 2011. As Chief Operating Officer, Courtney is primarily responsible for overseeing all PHE operations by supervising PHE sites and programs, overseeing the implementation of PHE’s strategic plan, managing human resources, designing and managing internal systems, and working closely with the PHE VP of Finance to track budgets to organizational goals. Prior to joining PHE, Courtney Schroeder served as National Director of Program for BELL (Building Educated Leaders for Life), a national nonprofit that partners with schools to create high-quality summer and after school programs for students most in need of academic support. In this role, she led program strategy, curriculum, staff training, program evaluation, and innovation. Prior to BELL, Courtney worked with Aspire Public Schools, a nonprofit charter school management organization in California. At Aspire, she focused on expanding after school and academic intervention programs. She also worked with PUC Schools in Los Angeles, implementing early infrastructure and systems. Courtney began her work in public education with NewSchools Venture Fund. As a Senior Analyst for the fund, she focused on investment strategy, due diligence, and supporting portfolio organizations. Courtney started her career in strategy consulting with Swander Pace & Company (now Kurt Salmon), working with consumer products clients to evaluate corporate growth strategy. Courtney graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in Public Policy. She also earned an M.B.A. from the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and an M.A. from Stanford University School of Education.
Stream Wang, Vice President of Finance
Stream joined Peer Health Exchange in October 2009. As the Vice President of Finance, Stream is primarily responsible for leading PHE's finances by providing fiscal oversight for all PHE sites and by implementing inter-departmental financial plans in line with organizational goals. Prior to joining PHE, Stream worked as an actuary at Fireman's Fund Insurance Company/Allianz, where she managed an actuarial unit with over $350 million in revenue by creating mathematical and financial models, and by providing business advisory and risk management support. She also served as a volunteer at Room to Read in San Francisco and at the Massachusetts Eye and Ear Infirmary in Boston. Stream graduated from Stanford University with an M.S. in Developmental Biology with a concentration in Bioinformatics, and from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology with a B.S. in Biology. Stream was the recipient of National Science Foundation Fellowship and Stanford Graduate Fellowship and co-authored publications in top-tier scientific journals including Cell, Nature Medicine, and Genetics. Stream is a member of the San Francisco Chapter of CalCPA.
Joe Feldman, Vice President of Programs
Joe joined PHE in November, 2011. As VP of Programs, he is responsible for the development, management, growth, and evaluation of PHE’s program, as well as the oversight of the strategic programmatic investments that will deepen the organization’s impact. For nearly 20 years, Joe has worked to improve public education opportunities, particularly for historically underserved students. He taught in Atlanta Public Schools, was an Assistant Principal in New York City, and was the founding principal of Thurgood Marshall Academy Public Charter High School in Washington, D.C. He has been a fellow for the U.S. Department of Education as well as the NAACP Legal Defense and Educational Fund, was the Director of Charter School Development for the New York City Department of Education, and most recently was the Director of K-12 Instructional Programs for the New Haven Unified School District. Joe is the author of the book Teaching Without Bells: What We Can Learn from Powerful Practice in Small Schools, and is a graduate of Stanford University, Harvard School of Education, and NYU Law School.
Molly Greene, Managing Director of Program Quality
Molly joined Peer Health Exchange in June 2007. As the Managing Director of Program Quality, Molly is primarily responsible for supervising and managing all aspects of the PHE Program Model, and ensuring that the organization has the tools to manage and deliver the PHE Program at the highest standard of quality and efficacy. Before joining the National staff in July 2010, Molly was PHE's Boston Executive Director for three years. Molly graduated from the Harvard Graduate School of Education with a M.Ed. in Higher Education, where she was a Catherine B. Reynolds Fellow for Social Entrepreneurship, and Amherst College with a B.A. in American Studies. Prior to joining PHE, Molly spent five years working with WorldTeach; first as a volunteer teacher in Ecuador, next as the Marketing, Admissions and Alumni Director in the headquarters office in Cambridge, MA, and finally as the National Field Director in Ecuador in charge of training and supporting over one hundred volunteer teachers.
Lisa Walker, National Director of Program Implementation
Lisa joined Peer Health Exchange in October 2011. As the National Director of Program Implementation, Lisa is primarily responsible for overseeing all elements of the administration of the PHE program. Specifically, she supervises the management and growth of the PHE program and execution of PHE educational and management strategies and tools across all PHE sites, and works closely with the Managing Director of Program Quality on holding staff accountable to the program model, coaching and supporting local staff, and overseeing key elements of PHE program operations nationwide. Prior to joining PHE, Lisa worked for Teach for America, first as a Program Director supporting first and second-year teachers throughout New York and then as a Recruitment Director leading college recruitment campaigns in Northern California. Prior to joining Teach For America staff, she taught third grade at a bilingual school in the Bronx, New York, as a Teach For America corps member. Lisa graduated from Georgetown University with a B.A. in Government.
Angie Peluse, National Director of Strategic Investment
Angie joined Peer Health Exchange in April 2009. As the Director of Strategic Investment, Angie is primarily responsibility for overseeing the strategic investments of the PHE strategic plan. Specifically, Angie will supervise the development, implementation and management of the strategic investments across PHE. Angie graduated from Harvard College with a B.A. in Women's Studies and American History, and received her M.Ed. from the Harvard Graduate School of Education where she received the Pforzhemier Fellowship for Public Service. After college, she received a fellowship to teach high school in England. Most recently, prior to joining PHE, Angie was an Associate Consultant at the Parthenon Group in the Education Center of Excellence, where she advised both for and non-profit clients in the Education sector. Angie has also worked as a Consultant with Public Consulting Group, focusing on technology and data implementations, served as the Assistant Women's Swimming Coach at Harvard, and volunteered as a Counselor at Planned Parenthood. Angie is also a member of the Evaluation Advisory board of Spark in San Francisco.
Ann Tsai, National Director of Talent Development
Ann joined Peer Health Exchange in September 2010. As Director of Talent Development, Ann is primarily responsible for ensuring that PHE meets its short and long-term goals in talent development by designing a national strategy to build the PHE alumni network, supporting the cultivation and placement of PHE alumni into teaching positions, and developing and managing talent partnership efforts with school districts, charter managements organizations, and other teaching organizations. Ann graduated from UC Berkeley with a B.A. in Political Science. Prior to joining PHE, Ann worked in education reform with The New Teacher Project where she served as the Director of Oakland Teaching Fellows, an initiative to recruit, train, and place new teachers in the Oakland Unified School District.
Danya Rosen, National External Affairs Manager
Danya joined Peer Health Exchange in November 2010. As the National External Affairs Manager, Danya is primarily responsible for assisting in the creation of PHE's external affairs strategies, building the systems to implement those strategies, and coordinating all fundraising and communication efforts across PHE sites. Prior to joining PHE, Danya spent five years at Peace Action West, training and developing grassroots organizers to promote a more peaceful, pragmatic foreign policy. As the Deputy Outreach Director, she was responsible for assisting in the oversight of all membership acquisition, donor cultivation, staff development, and grassroots political production. Danya graduated from the UC Berkeley with a B.A. in Sociology. At Berkeley, she chaired the Foreign Policy Caucus for the Cal Berkeley Democrats, and was a coordinator, campaign manager and activist for Cal Students for Equal Rights and a Valid Education.
Abby Gillespie, Internal Chief of Staff
Abby joined Peer Health Exchange in October 2011. As Chief of Staff, Abby is primarily responsible for providing critical, high-level support to the CEO and the National Management Team. Prior to joining PHE, Abby was an Education Pioneers Analyst Fellow with Bellwether Education Partners. The Fellowship is a ten-month program that places early career professionals with private sector experience into analytical roles in the education reform space. Prior to the Fellowship, Abby was a consultant in Huron Consulting Group’s healthcare practice, where she worked with hospitals and health systems to maximize their financial and operational performance. Before consulting, Abby taught elementary school as a Teach For America corps member in Brooklyn, New York. Abby graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a B.A. in International Studies.
Louisa Brown, External Chief of Staff
Louisa joined Peer Health Exchange in November 2011. As External Chief of Staff, Louisa is primarily responsible for providing critical, high-level support and guidance to the CEO, particularly in matters related to external affairs. Prior to joining the PHE team, Louisa served as Manager of Corporate Affairs at BELL, a national nonprofit that operates high-quality summer and after school learning programs in urban schools. In this role, Louisa was responsible for developing and managing partnerships with BELL’s corporate donors and volunteers. Louisa spent her first year at BELL as a New Sector Alliance Resident in Social Enterprise, a residency program that places and supports early career professionals in capacity-building roles at nonprofit organizations. Louisa graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in Politics, Philosophy, and Economics (PPE).
Alexandra Lozanoff, National Program Manager
Alexandra joined Peer Health Exchange in July 2009. As the National Program Manager, Alexandra is primarily responsible in managing all aspects of the PHE Program Model to continually strengthen Volunteer Teaching Quality and to ensure that the organization has the tools to deliver the PHE Program at the highest standard. Prior to this role, Alexandra served as the Chicago Program Manager. Alexandra graduated from the University of Pennsylvania with a B.A. in History. While a student, Alexandra taught public speaking to Penn undergraduates with the campus program Communication Within the Curriculum. Prior to joining PHE, Alexandra was a field organizer with the Illinois Public Interest Research Group, conducting media work, coalition building, and lobbying to pass public interest legislation at the state and federal level.
Caroline Landau, National Evaluation and Program Associate
Caroline joined Peer Health Exchange in August 2010. As the National Evaluation and Program Associate, Caroline is primarily responsible for supporting the development, management, growth, and evaluation of the PHE Program organization-wide and for supporting the National Program Team in implementing programmatic innovations. Caroline graduated from Brown University with a B.A. in Brazilian history, and from 2009 to 2010, Caroline conducted a Fulbright project in Brazil on the collective memory of AIDS activism.
Sarah Greene, National Curriculum and Program Associate
Sarah joined Peer Health Exchange in July 2010. As the National Curriculum and Program Associate, Sarah is primarily responsible for supporting the Managing Director of Program Quality on the annual review of the PHE Curriculum and assisting with the development, management, and growth of the PHE Program across all PHE sites. Before joining the National staff in July 2011, Sarah was a PHE New York Program Associate. Sarah graduated from Yale University with a B.A. in History. While at Yale, Sarah served as a Co-Coordinator of High School Community Health Educators, the student volunteer program out of which Peer Health Exchange, Inc. grew.
Mara Perman, National Operations and Program Associate
Mara joined Peer Health Exchange in September 2011. As the National Operations and Program Associate, Mara is primarily responsible for providing administrative and technological support to national program operations, and managing communication for the program team. Mara graduated from Cornell University with a B.A. in Government, concentrating in Global Health and International Relations. Prior to joining PHE, Mara interned at the U.S. Department of State's Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. She also worked with Support for International Change as an HIV/AIDS treatment and prevention educator in rural northern Tanzania.
Spencer Montalvo, National External Affairs Associate
Spencer joined Peer Health Exchange in October 2011. As the External Affairs Associate, Spencer is primarily responsible for providing technical and administrative support to the External Affairs Team across all core areas and playing a leading role in managing PHE’s income and database, grant management, and event support. Immediately prior to joining the PHE team, Spencer worked with both the Cutler Group as a Strategic Development Associate in planning the 73rd National Folk Festival, and a Development Associate with the Make-A-Wish Foundation of Georgia and Alabama. In addition, he worked as the Emergency Program and Development Coordinator at Vanderbilt University where he was responsible for supervising and implementing relief efforts for Middle Tennessee. Spencer studied political science and philosophy at Vanderbilt University. At Vanderbilt, he was President of Leaders Engaged for An Active Democracy, Division Head of the Vanderbilt Philosophy Review, and a research assistant with the Vanderbilt Breast Cancer Research Laboratory.
Glenn Macayan, Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper
Glenn joined Peer Health Exchange in October 2011. As Staff Accountant/Bookkeeper, Glenn is primarily responsible for supporting PHE’s general accounting and bookkeeping operations. Glenn joins PHE with over 12 years of experience in accounting and business operations. After graduating from Cal State East Bay with a B.S. in Business Administration, Glenn went on to complete a Master’s of Science in Accountancy from University of Phoenix in 2011. Glenn has extensive experience in accounting and bookkeeping, and has worked in a variety of business and finance settings in both for-profit and non-profit companies. Most recently, Glenn served as an interim Accounting Manager for Playworks, a non-profit organization based in Oakland.
Bay Area Team
Emily Gasner, Bay Area Executive Director
Emily joined Peer Health Exchange in August 2009. As the Bay Area Executive Director, Emily is primarily responsible for developing, managing, growing, and evaluating the PHE Bay Area Program, managing the Bay Area Program Associates, raising funds, managing and growing the Bay Area Board of Overseers, and providing fiscal and organizational oversight for the PHE Bay Area site. Before joining the Bay Area team, Emily was PHE’s Los Angeles Executive Director for two years. Emily graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in Political Science. Prior to PHE, Emily interned at NARAL Pro-Choice California, the ACLU of Northern California, and Human Rights Watch. She was honored by Planned Parenthood in June of 2009 for her work as a student activist.
Braden Lake, Bay Area Program Associate
Braden joined Peer Health Exchange in June 2010. As the Bay Area Program Associate, Braden is primarily responsible for assisting with the development, management, growth, and evaluation of the Bay Area Program, and assisting the Bay Area Executive Director. Braden graduated from Stanford University with a B.A. in Human Biology, concentrating in Global Health and Human Rights. Prior to joining PHE, Braden worked as the Fellowship Program Director for the Global Health Corps. She also served as an event coordinator for Face AIDS, interned at the National Institutes of Health, and conducted research for the Desmond Tutu HIV Centre in Cape Town, South Africa.
New York Team
Marianna Tu, New York Executive Director
Marianna joined Peer Health Exchange in October 2010. As the New York Executive Director, Marianna is responsible for developing, managing, and evaluating the PHE New York City Program, raising funds, and managing the New York City staff and Board of Overseers. She provides fiscal and organizational oversight for the city site and leads local strategic planning. Prior to joining PHE, Marianna worked as an Associate Director at an international philanthropy consulting firm. Her clients included global health financing institutions, grassroots organizations, and national grant-making foundations. Marianna spent two years with the international education nonprofit Learning Enterprises, where she served as China Program Director. Marianna graduated cum laude from Harvard College with a B.A. in English and American Literature and Language. She is an Area Committee Member of the Harvard Center Public Interest Careers (CPIC) and active volunteer with Pediatric HIV/AIDS Treatment Support (PATS).
Ryanne Filbey, New York Program Director
Ryanne began her position at PHE in August 2011. Previously, she worked at Strong Women, Strong Girls- an afterschool mentoring program for girls - as the Boston Program Manager. She worked closely with partners to implement excellent programming, provide appropriate trainings, cultivate community partnerships and provide ongoing support to mentors and chapter leaders. Prior to coming to Strong Women, Strong Girls, Ryanne served as the Teen Program Coordinator at Girls, Inc in Lynn, MA. Ryanne engaged young women as leaders in their community by designing lesson plans, implementing evaluations and directing an urban youth council. Ryanne is a graduate of the School for International Training Program: History and Culture of the African Diaspora, in Ghana. She holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Sociology from the University of Puget Sound.
Samhita Reddy, New York Program Associate
Samhita joined PHE in June 2010. Prior to joining the PHE team, Samhita managed the development of a medical English e-learning program at a health technology start-up. Her career in public health began in Portland, Oregon, where she worked with schools and local organizations to address chronic disease in high-need populations, and continued in Harlem, New York where she helped to increase health literacy through community outreach. Her commitment to public service is fueled by her interest in racial and socioeconomic disparities in health.
Colin Adamo, New York Program Associate
Colin joined PHE in August 2011 as a New York Program Associate. Colin graduated from Yale University, where he served as a Co-Coordinator of Community Health Educators, the student volunteer program out of which PHE grew. Colin has collaborated with renowned sexual health educators to develop programs for college students and adolescents. He has also led many health education programs and campaigns specifically targeted to teenagers, including Hooking Up& Staying Hooked, an online sexual health and relationship resource specifically for high school aged boys.
Nebeu Shimeles, New York Operations Coordinator
Nebeu joined PHE in August 2010 as the Bay Area Fellow, and began his new role as NYC Operations Coordinator in August 2011. Nebeu has experience working with a number of community based organizations, including extensive collaboration with Common Ground Collective, a New Orleans based non-profit dedicated to the equitable redevelopment of the Lower Ninth Ward in the aftermath of Hurricane Katrina. Nebeu comes to PHE with an avid commitment to issues of social justice and a desire to help redress systemic inequities in health outcomes through his work at PHE.
Boston Team
Robin Rich, Boston Executive Director
Robin joined Peer Health Exchange in January 2011. As the Boston Executive Director, Robin is primarily responsible for developing, managing, growing, and evaluating the PHE Boston program, managing the Boston Program Managers and Fellow, raising funds, managing and growing the Boston Board of Overseers, and providing fiscal and organizational oversight for the PHE Boston site. Robin has an M.S. in Nonprofit/NGO Leadership from the University of Pennsylvania and was awarded the Dean's Emerging Leader Award upon graduation. She also holds a B.A. from Macalester College. Robin currently serves as the Board Vice President for Casa Myrna Vazquez in Boston. Prior to joining PHE, Robin worked as the Director of Development at Crittenton Women's Union in Boston and as a Development Manager at Philadelphia-based Fairmount Ventures, a nonprofit consulting firm specializing in resource and organizational development. Before her work in consulting, Robin worked as the Assistant Executive Director for the League of Women Voters of Massachusetts.
Ann Peralta, Boston Program Director
Ann joined Peer Health Exchange in August 2011. As the Boston Program Director, Ann is primarily responsible for leading the PHE program in Boston by developing, managing, growing, and evaluating the PHE Boston Program, managing the PHE Boston Program Associates, and assisting with the development of strategic plans. Ann graduated from The George Washington University with a B.A. in Economics, and is pursuing her M.P.H. in Maternal and Child Health at Boston University part-time as a Community Scholar while she leads PHE Boston programming. Most recently, prior to joining PHE, Ann was the Boston Program Coordinator at Fitness Forward, where she led a school-based obesity prevention program. Ann also served as a Peace Corps Volunteer in Bolivia for two years where she taught health education classes at an alternative girls’ school. Ann is also a member of the advisory board of ABCD’s Entre Nosotras program in Boston.
Kasey Clavelle, Boston Program Associate
Kasey joined PHE in June 2011. As a Boston Program Associate, Kasey is primarily responsible for assisting with the development, management, growth, and evaluation of the Boston Program and assisting the Boston Executive Director. Kasey graduated from Tufts University with a B.A. in Community Health and International Relations with a concentration in Global Health and Nutrition. At Tufts, she served as a Health Educator, Leadership Council Member, and Co-Coordinator for the Tufts PHE chapter. While a student, Kasey interned with Our Bodies Ourselves, a women’s health education and advocacy organization located in Cambridge, MA. She also worked in the Washington, D.C. office of U.S. Senator Bernie Sanders.
Rebecca Gillette, Boston Program Associate
Rebecca joined PHE in June 2011. As a Boston Program Associate, Rebecca is primarily responsible for assisting with the development, management, growth, and evaluation of the Boston Program and assisting the Boston Executive Director. She graduated from Harvard College with a B.A. in Government. Prior to joining the PHE staff, Rebecca served as a Fellow for an international non-profit in Washington, DC where she developed the President’s strategic communications and staffed the organization’s strategic planning process. Rebecca was a recognized student leader in community service and interfaith relations at Harvard, and she taught creative activities as a medium for self-expression in Cambridge public schools as a volunteer for CityStep. While a student, Rebecca also worked for several non-profits focused on youth and young adult populations.
Erica Lokken, Boston Operations Coordinator
Erica joined Peer Health Exchange in August 2011. As the Boston Operations Coordinator, Erica is primarily responsible for providing high-level support for the Boston Executive Director, assisting with volunteer training and management, overseeing data and evaluation collection, supporting PHE’s Boston fundraising, and managing office operations. Erica graduated from Tufts University with a B.S. in Biology and Community Health. While a student at Tufts, she managed the tour guide program, interned with the Neurdoendocrine Unit at Massachusetts General Hospital, and tutored high school students in geometry. While abroad in Switzerland, Erica worked with the Global Drug Facility of the Stop TB Partnership. There, she assessed the impact of changes in the WHO’s pediatric TB treatment guidelines on drug procurement and policy uptake. Erica’s passion for public health and service is a result of her interest in social justice and in community empowerment.

Rebecca Commito, Chicago Program Associate
Rebecca joined Peer Health Exchange in August 2011. As a Chicago Program Associate, Rebecca is primarily responsible for assisting with the development, management, growth, and evaluation of the Chicago Program, and assisting Chicago Executive Director. Rebecca graduated from Swarthmore College with a B.A. in French and Francophone Studies. At Swarthmore College, Rebecca served as the Senior Class President and as a Peer Sexual Health Counselor. Prior to joining PHE, Rebecca interned at the Philadelphia Women’s Center and the Department of Family Planning and Contraceptive Research at the University of Chicago as a high school Health Educator. Rebecca also serves as a Lab Associate at CommunityHealth, a volunteer-based medical home for the uninsured in Chicago.
Chidimma Acholonu, Chicago Program Associate
Chidimma joined Peer Health Exchange in August 2011. As a Chicago Program Associate, Chidimma is primarily responsible for managing, growing, and evaluating the PHE Program at Chicago college sites; supervising the development, management, growth, and evaluation of all Chicago Partner High Schools; supporting PHE's Chicago fundraising, and assisting the Chicago Executive Director. Chidimma received her BA in Biological Sciences and Psychology from Rutgers, The State University of New Jersey and MPH from The George Washington University School of Public Health and Health Services in Washington DC. Prior to joining the PHE staff, Chidimma served as the intern at the Washington DC Primary Care Association, with the Adolescent Wellness Initiative and, most recently, as the Policy Assistant for The National Assembly on School-Based Health Care (NASBHC. Chidimma was also actively involved in the Interdisciplinary Student Community-Oriented Prevention Enhancement Services (ISCOPES) program, a year-long interdisciplinary team service-learning experience geared towards providing a wide range of health-related services in Washington, DC.

Caitlin Krier, Los Angeles Program Associate
Caitlin joined Peer Health Exchange in August of 2010. As a Los Angeles Program Associate, Caitlin is primarily responsible for assisting with the development, management, growth, and evaluation of the Los Angeles Program, and assisting the Los Angeles Executive Director. Caitlin graduated from Pomona College with a B.A. in Latin American Studies, concentrating in Sociology and History. Prior to joining PHE, Caitlin interned at several California-based nonprofits, including The Women's Building in San Francisco and Break the Cycle in Los Angeles. While living abroad in South America, Caitlin also conducted sex education workshops in Buenos Aires, Argentina, and taught at a home for orphaned youth in Peru.
Rebecca Struch, Los Angeles Program Associate
Rebecca joined Peer Health Exchange in October of 2011. As a Los Angeles Program Associate, Rebecca is primarily responsible for assisting with the development, management, growth, and evaluation of the Los Angeles Program, and assisting the Los Angeles Executive Director. Rebecca received her M.A. in Applied Theatre Arts from the University of Southern California, and her B.A. in Theatre Arts and Gender, Women, and Sexuality Studies from the University of Minnesota. Prior to joining PHE, Rebecca worked in professional theatre for over six years and was involved in various liberation arts and community organizing projects. She also lived in Kenya for one year, studying international development and working as a public health Peer Youth Educator at a local youth center.
